About the Project
The Hartford Renaissance District Community Development Corporation, Inc. (HRD CDC) was birthed from generosity and leadership of The Prosperity Foundation. Our goal is to create a safely sustained quality of life for our community in the Northeast section of Hartford. HRD CDC aims to instill pride and purpose for families dwelling in the Northeast neighborhood with the revitalization of the community without gentrification.
The primary purpose of the Hartford Renaissance District Community Development Corporation is to transform lives of residents in Hartford, Connecticut by building and maintaining the social and physical infrastructure and programs that create a safe space of healing for individuals, families, and the community to live a self-sufficient and sustainable life freely and in peace. Enhance educational opportunities and workforce readiness.
Create and sustain an innovative and entrepreneurial culture.
Increase access to healthcare and improve wellness outcomes.
Increase knowledge of self and celebrate/promote the rich cultural heritage of the Barbour Street community.
Create placemaking initiatives that add to the vibrancy of the community and enhance tourism, culture, arts, and entertainment.
Foster a sense of community ownership by increasing active participation in community programs and activities.
Create a public safety plan.
